CSIR-IIP’s first field-deployed medical oxygen (MO2) plant was successfully commissioned today at Aundh Chest Hospital, Pune.
CSIR_IIP first field developed medical oxygen plant successfully that is very important and helpful.The 100 litres per minute (LPM) Pressure Vacuum Swing Adsorption (PVSA) plant delivers 0.2 tons per day of medical grade oxygen at 5 atmospheres pressure. It is coupled to Liquid oxygen (LOX) and cylinder-based gas (GO2) systems to ensure the O2 supply is never disrupted. Oxygen purity level of 96% was achieved against a specification requirement of 90-96%. The unit was fabricated by CSIR-IIP’s licensee and engineering partner, Gaskon Engineers, at Delhi.
Greatly appreciate the support and encouragement of Dr Niteen Biloliker, Civil Surgeon of Pune District, throughout the commissioning activity. Dr Ashish Lele, Director CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), along with expert colleagues from NCL, provided leadership on the ground to identify and resolve system integration issues. Bharat Forge Ltd made a significant difference to the quality of the effort with local logistics, installation and validation support.
Now the more hospitals are establishing itself oxygen plant and commissioning uninterrupted oxygen supply but as CSIR _IIP joint attempt is successful it is definitely very appreciating for continue oxygen supply in hospitals.
Now covid 19 pandemic has challenged health care system and during these cortical situation this plant will play very significant role. It’s said that It is coupled to Liquid oxygen (LOX) and cylinder-based gas (GO2) systems to ensure the O2 supply is never disrupted. Oxygen purity level of 96% was achieved against a specification requirement of 90-96%. If such plants establish definitely in healthcare system will be strengthened and medical staff can the best treatment. As covid19 pandemic is challenging to strengthen the health care system for the best results about treatment now it is hoped that coming days will improve it’s weakness and provide the best treatment equipment and as uninterrupted oxygen supply .
