Group Captain Ramesh Chandra Tripathi, Vayu Sena Medal (Gallentry), hails from ‘Rath Chetra

Group Captain Ramesh Chandra Tripathi, Vayu Sena Medal (Gallentry), hails from ‘Rath Chetra’in Thalisain region of Garhwal. Now settled in Dehradun, from a humble background, he was commissioned in Indian Air Force in 1988. A highly decorated, distinguished and most experienced officer of the Indian Air Force with many credentials, records and achievements to his credit, Tripathi even after becoming a veteran lives his deep passion of adventure even today at the age of 59 yrs.

He is participating in the ‘Vayu Veer Vijeta’ car rally which was flagged off by H’ble Raksha Mantri, Sh Raj Nath Singh ji from the National war Memorial in Delhi on 01 Oct 2024. The rally will cover a total distance of approximately 7000kms and will travel through Thoise, Srinagar, Jammu, Dehradun, Agra, Lucknow, Guwahati and finally culminate in Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh.


The rally is being jointly organized by Indian Air Force and Uttarakhand War Memorial(UWM) on 15th. Sh Tarun Vijay, former MP, author, writer and cultural conservationist, is also participating and is the brainchild of the rally. The team consisting 28 participants in 14 Jimney cars will reach Dehradun on 14th and will formally leave from UWM in the early hours.

Tripathi being an avid adventurist has deep passion for Skydiving and Mountaineering. He not only climbed Mt Everest in 2005 but also brought laurels to ‘Uttarakhand’ by creating a record of becoming the first person in the ‘Armed Forces and Para military Forces’ of the country, to climb all the highest peaks of all Seven Continents and proudly hoist the ‘National Flag’ atop each mountain. With more than 22 succesfull mountaineering expeditions in India and abroad, he has done more than 4000 Skydive jumps and created a World Record by undertaking first ever Skydive Jump in the Everest Base camp region and landed in the highest landing zone.

 

He is also an avid Marathon Runner, qualified Skier, Paragling Pilot, Parasailing Instructor, Scuba diver and passionate Cyclist and a Golfer. An accomplished adventurists, he is a mentor, a guide and dedicated person engaged in promoting and motivating the Youth of the country.
